Junior Varsity Knowledge Bowl Season Concludes with Final Meet in Monticello

Junior Varsity Knowledge Bowl teams from across central Minnesota gathered at Monticello High School on February 28 for the final meet of the season. Students competed through one written round and multiple fast-paced oral rounds, demonstrating collaboration, quick thinking, and academic knowledge throughout the day.

At the conclusion of the meet, Buffalo A from Buffalo High School claimed first place with a final score of 73.0, finishing ahead of fellow Buffalo teams Buffalo B (65.5) and Buffalo F (64.5). Melrose A placed fourth with 63.5, followed by Buffalo C (60.5) and Melrose B (58.5) to round out the top six teams.

The meet highlighted the depth of several programs across the region. Buffalo High School placed four teams among the top five, while Melrose High School had two teams finish in the top six. Monticello High School also showed strong growth during the competition, with Monticello A moving up the standings to finish seventh.

Junior Varsity Knowledge Bowl provides students an opportunity to build teamwork, problem-solving skills, and academic confidence while preparing for future varsity competition.
