Your First Years Matter: Introducing Rising Ed Pathways

Introducing our new Rising Ed Pathways, offering early career Educators and Mentors training and support. Rising Ed is a comprehensive professional development and mentorship program tailored specifically for early-career educators holding a Tier 1 or Tier 2 license or those new to the career with less than three years of experience.

Designed to establish a strong foundation for classroom management and instructional excellence, the program guides new teachers through critical growth milestones throughout the school year.

We offer two options for the Rising Ed Pathway:

  • Training and support throughout the year for the Early Career Teacher and their District-assigned Mentor.
  • Training for just the Early Career Teacher and coaching support provided by trained Mentor Coaches from Resource Training & Solutions

Core Program Components for Early Career Teachers:

  • Targeted Teacher Trainings: Features 4 full-day interactive sessions throughout the year focused on classroom setup, establishing routines, building student relationships, backwards lesson design, and engaging all learners.
  • Communities of Practice (CoP): Includes 4 collaborative Zoom sessions where teachers self-evaluate their classroom routines, set indicator-based goals, and reflect on their growth.
  • Job-Embedded Coaching: Provides critical weekly support to ensure classroom application. Districts can utilize their own school-based coaches or opt for specialized RTS Coaches who deliver at least three structured coaching cycles.
  • Robust Mentor Support: To ensure high-quality guidance, the pathway offers 1st-year coaches a 4-day Foundational Instructional Coaching (FIC) series, 5 Coach CoP sessions, and targeted infield coaching.
  • Digital Resource Access: Both teachers and coaches receive full access to our coaching platform and a digital library filled with coaching tools and resources.

Program Roadmap

The Phase 1 journey is strategically aligned with the arc of the school year:

  • August: Setting Up For Success (Physical space, routine building, and relationships).
  • September – November: Goal setting, self-evaluating routines, and implementing the Lesson Planning Guide.
  • January – February: Engaging All Learners and shifting the academic struggle to students.
  • February – March: Analyzing Student Learning and executing data-based planning.
  • May/June: Year-in-review reflection and goal celebration.
