142 Educational Support Staff Honored at the 2025 ESS Recognition Event
Last night, Resource Training & Solutions proudly celebrated 142 educational support staff from across Central Minnesota at our annual Educational Support Staff (ESS) Recognition Event. Held at the St. Cloud River’s Edge Convention Center, the evening brought together honorees, their families, district leaders, and school community members for a joyful celebration of the people who keep our schools running smoothly every day.
From the moment guests arrived, the atmosphere felt warm, welcoming, and full of pride. Support staff members—representing roles in transportation, nutrition services, classroom support, health offices, facilities, technology, and more—were greeted with enthusiastic applause as they gathered to be recognized for the essential contributions they make in creating safe, supportive, and student-centered environments.
A Night Filled With Laughter and Appreciation
This year’s entertainment featured Tim Gabrielson, Inspirational Speaker & Comedy Magician, whose blend of humor, magic, and heartfelt storytelling set the tone for an uplifting evening. His message of positivity, resilience, and connection was a meaningful fit for a night dedicated to those who quietly, consistently make a difference in the lives of students.
Honoring the People Who Make Schools Thrive
Each honoree was selected by their school district for going above and beyond in their work—serving as trusted adults, problem-solvers, caretakers, and steady supports for both students and staff. Their dedication touches every corner of school life, from greeting students at the bus door to ensuring classrooms are ready for learning.
“Educational support staff are at the heart of our school communities,” said Mark Schmitz, Executive Director of Resource Training & Solutions. “It was an honor to celebrate their dedication and to recognize the many ways they help our schools and students thrive each day.”
Recognizing Excellence Across Region 7
The ESS Recognition Event is one of our favorite traditions. Each year, it gives us a chance to highlight the people whose work often happens behind the scenes but has an enormous impact on the daily experiences of students and families throughout Region 7. Their care, commitment, and expertise help create the conditions where students feel safe, supported, and ready to learn.
