Description: The PK Structured Literacy Cohort is a professional learning experience for preschool and kindergarten teachers and support staff who desire a deeper knowledge of early literacy instruction. Teachers will gain new skills that help young learners build a foundation before they learn to read and write. Using the Lexia EC LETRS suite, participants will complete online learning activities that reinforce concepts, watch videos of experts teaching, and learn practical ways to apply learning to the classroom. The Resource Training & Solutions facilitator will support participants through efficient pacing to complete online modules successfully, provide context and examples about the readings, and provide guidance on using the Bridge to Practice activities to make necessary connections back to the classroom.
Training includes: online Lexia Learning bundle, manual, facilitation, and instructional support.
Cost of course will be covered by MN Read Act Grant. It will be the district's responsibility to also register with MDE (who will then connect with LEXIA).
