Educational Professionals
Due to a partnership agreement between the MN Service Cooperatives, The Reading Center, and Mayo Clinic, we are excited to be able to provide free Dyslexia 101 training for educators. New legislation (effective 7/1) will require screening students who are not reading at or above grade level. The Dyslexia 101 course is a great place for any educator (general education or special education teacher, paraprofessional, or administrator) who is unfamiliar with dyslexia.
Dyslexia 101 will address the following areas:
- What dyslexia is, including both visual and auditory dyslexia
- Misconceptions about dyslexia
- What dyslexia may look like in the classroom
- Effective reading instruction
- Classroom accommodations and strategies
