Finance Coordinator & Conservator

As Finance Coordinator, you will manage accounts receivable, provide monthly statements, handle customer questions about accounts and collections, provide support to payroll, accounts payable, and general ledger reconciliation as needed.

As Conservator, you will carefully monitor and manage an individual’s finances, which includes real estate and homestead affairs, checking & savings accounts, as well as any investments.

Essential Functions

  • As Finance Coordinator, you will determine and apply codes to each receivable, send out statements, process refunds, contact customers, and research and resolve payment discrepancies.
  • As a member of the Finance team, you will be cross trained to assist with accounts payable, payroll and general ledger reconciliations as needed.
  • As Conservator, you will carefully monitor and manage the individual’s finances to include real estate and homestead affairs, checking, savings, and
    investments. Arrange personal tax preparation as needed.
  • Person centered care will be paramount in the delivery of services. Adherence to Minnesota’s Olmstead Plan and all subsequent revisions will ensure the individual is living, learning, working and enjoying life in the most integrated setting.
  • Adhere to the Conservator’s Code of Ethics.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of the services, providers, facilities and funding sources available in the community. Treat all professionals and service providers with respect and courtesy to enhance the working relationship between the provider, person and the conservator to provide the most benefit to the individual.
  • Maintain proactive communication and engage in continuous process improvement efforts with the Resource Manager and Clinical Supervisor.
  • Provide clear documentation of each case and submit necessary monthly, quarterly and annual reports.
  • Attend ongoing training, professional development offerings and staff meetings as required.
  • Assist with general administrative tasks for the department.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Desired Education and Experience

  • Associates degree in accounting/finance with experience in the Health and Human Services field preferred. Comparable experience in a related field may also fulfill this requirement.
  • Experience with financial software applications.
  • Successful completion of a background check.
  • A valid driver's license, acceptable driving record and proof of auto insurance is required.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position, and hours of work are generally Monday through Friday, 8:00 to 4:30. Some weekends or evening hours are necessary in emergency situations. Resource offers a hybrid schedule to allow work from the office or a remote location. Some mandatory days are required in the office for meetings and to cover the essential functions of the job. Limited travel within the region may be required.

Environment & Physical Demands

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and photocopiers. This is largely a sedentary role; however, some office organization is required. This would require the ability to move and lift 30 lbs., stand for periods of time and carry items a short distance as necessary.
