9 a.m. - 12 p.m.

Registration Deadline

Wednesday, August 11, 2021

This workshop utilizes adult learning principles to introduce the new science

standards through equity and research-driven lenses. Teachers will learn background

on the National Research Council’s findings and research, the language of the NGSS

and Minnesota’s Science Standards, and be guided through changes in instruction,

including phenomena, that research suggests will improve student achievement and

educator professional practice. Designed to support educators as they engage

students in the practices of science and engineering, we will explore interdisciplinary

phenomena and their connections to our experiences, and our students’ cultural

identities, everyday lived experiences, and funds of knowledge.

One or two graduate level credits are available through a partnership with College of St. Scholastica.
