Those with a non-education bachelor's degree from an accredited college may apply for a limited, short-call substitute teaching license. This workshop explains the process for applying for the two-year license through the Minnesota Professional Educator Licensing and Standards Board (PELSB). In addition, participants will learn the teacher's role in the classroom and district, the basics of classroom management, instruction, and child development, essential communication skills, and gain awareness of the legal issues related to students and your obligations as a substitute teacher.

Who Should Attend? Those with a non-education, four-year bachelor's degree who are interested in becoming a substitute teacher in Minnesota.

What Should Participant's Bring? A valid driver's license


• Workshop Fee: $175 paid to Resource Training & Solutions at the time of registration.

• Licensing Fee: approximately $100 paid to PELSB at the time of application.
