FOR WHO: Middle school & high school social workers, counselors, and educators comfortable with mental health group facilitation
The Anxiety Group Training provides a run-through of an 8 week Anxiety Group for middle school and high school students. The purpose of the group is for students to develop anxiety management skills, build peer support, as well as provide direct services for those who have identified needs in this area.
This group includes skill building in the areas of emotion management, assertiveness, mindfulness, and problem solving. The lessons are designed to assist students in developing skills that will help them cope with stressors and teen life. Topics will include: identifying and dealing with difficult emotions, developing coping strategies, identifying healthy support systems, and responsible decision making.

About the Presenter
Megan Perry
Regional Social Worker
Megan is a calm school leader with a solution focused mindset. She has worked in education since 2014, focusing on mental wellness and resiliency with both students and adults. Megan is a Licensed Social Worker, with experience as a high school social worker. Designing and facilitating learning experiences that seek to deepen students and educators’ understanding of social and emotional life skills allows her to blend her love of systems-thinking with human-centered endeavors and solutions.
